TOM WARDLE

"If it ain't traditional, it ain't country"

Honky Tonks and Heartaches - features the best country music you "never" heard .... all independent artists. Show also includes several segments of Country Classics - featuring the legends of country, and the best country music ever recorded.

Tom is well known to many folks in the traditional country music community, due to his support of, and dedication to, real country music. He is well-versed in the history of country music, it's artists, songs and music. He hosted two very popular traditional country music shows on WDVR-FM in New Jersey for 13-plus years, was a DJ on Twangtown USA for several years, and owned and published TopTrax Traditional Country Music Airplay Chart for 4 years. He has also worked as a radio promoter for independent country artists. In 2002, he received the Twangtown USA "USA DJ Of The Year" and "USA Radio Show Of The Year" awards. In 2003, he was chosen for the "Country Radio Station Of The Year" award by Airplay International in Nashville, TN.

He has interviewed many of country's legendary performers, including Vern Gosdin, Bill Anderson, Jeanie Seely, Leona Williams, Ferlin Husky, Stonewall Jackson, Ricky Van Shelton, Ernie Ashworth, Ray Price, Billy Walker, Hank Locklin, and Norma Jean, plus many independent artists like Justin Trevino, Dugg Collins, Jimmy Eaves, Frankie Miller and a host of others. His very popular "Honky Tonks & Heartaches" show features independent 'unknown' artists who carry on the tradition of real country music, while his "Country Classics" show features the legendary artists from the golden age of country music. His occasional "Steel Guitar Special" and unique tribute shows, featuring artists like Ernest Tubb and Buck Owens, have been immensely popular with listeners. Tom is one of the best when it comes to providing the airwaves (and internet) with the very best country music ever recorded. Like Tom says "If it ain't traditional, it ain't country!"
